Head Teller

Position Summary
Provides extraordinary customer care to internal and external customers. Oversees the daily operation of the teller area. In the absence of both the Branch Manager and/or Branch Supervisor, directs other branch personnel. Operates a teller window as required
Essential Responsibilities
Provides extraordinary customer care in daily interactions with external and internal customers.
Provides operational supervision and scheduling of teller staff.
Provides ongoing product training; assists with enhancing teller cross-selling and follow-up techniques.
Meet and exceed sales and referral goals annually.
Performs all duties of teller position as needed.
Knowledgeable in all relevant policies and procedures, especially BSA and those regarding cash handling.
Typical Job Duties
Manages the sales effort of the tellers.
Identifies and refers potential investment clients to the appropriate source.
Monitors and orders branch cash.
Maintains control and balancing of personal cash drawer.
Reconciles branch ATM daily.
Performs monthly cash counts on each teller, branch cash vault.
Monitors branch video surveillance equipment.
Oversees Branch Personal Teller Machine proof and control, if applicable.
Evaluates performance of teller staff members; provides periodic coaching sessions.
Researches and processes credit and debit advises received from correspondent Bank.
Verifies accuracy of the daily work processed by branch personnel and daily branch consolidation.
Maintains appropriate control and levels of the Branch Money Order and Teller Check inventory.
Prepares work schedules to ensure adequate lobby and drive-up coverage.
Services as Branch Supervisor if designated by management.
Participates in outbound calling efforts and is proficient in the migration of customers to the Bank's digital channels.
Partners with Branch Manager and/or Branch Supervisor to complete end of day tasks and responsibilities.
Performs other duties as required by management.
Job Requirements
Formal education through High School, or the equivalent required. Three years of prior teller experience and one year of supervisory experience.
This position requires excellent sales, service, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to focus on customer needs promptly in a courteous and professional manner. Must be detail oriented and highly accurate with the ability to multi-task. Individual must be an advocate for the OceanFirst VISION.
Computer literacy, basic typing skills and a general knowledge of standard office equipment including Personal Computers and ATM/ITM's required.
Must be in reasonably good physical condition and be mobile. Job responsibility involves the ability to lift upwards of 25 pounds.
May need to travel to other branches as needed. Requires maintaining a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for use in the course of the job.
This position requires computer literacy and basic typing skills, plus knowledge of standard office equipment including adding machines, calculators, and PC.
Must be able to work flexible schedules in accordance with the needs of the branch.
A clean and safe appearance of branch facilities must be maintained at all times.
Position requires professional dress, hygiene and appearance at all times. Refer to the corporate dress code.
All Bank positions require maintaining personal fiscal responsibility.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
